Materials Needed:

Pre-Cut Wooden Blocks

Acrylic Paint and Brushes

Letter Stencils

Tape

Mod Podge with Foam Brush

Sharpie Paint Pens

I purchased my unfinished Wooden Block Set from Becky Shelves on Etsy. I especially loved that it came with a cute little crate to hold all the blocks. Since they were pre-sanded, there was no prep work and I started painting each of the sides of the blocks. I chose to use a bright pink, green and white. After they were dry, I sanded any edged where the paint needed to be cleaned up.

I taped the letter stencils to each of the blocks and using a foam brush, gently applied paint to the stencil area with dabbing motions. Some of the paint seeped under the stencil, but I was able to clean up the letters using sharpie paint pens in white and pink. Next, I drew shapes on the opposite side of the block using the sharpie paint pen. 26 shapes are tricky to come up with… I used google search and got creative! Once all the paint was dry, I applied a coat of Mod Podge to each of the the sides to seal and protect the blocks. I left the crate unpainted to match the edges of the blocks, but feel free to personalize and get fancy with the box!!
