Best Ever Cinnamon Rolls

Best Ever Cinnamon Rolls

Typically I skip the preface and jump right to the recipe. If you're like me, you don't really care about the ten paragraphs leading up to the actual recipe. But I feel like these cinnamon rolls need at least a half a paragraph talking about how amazing they really are! First let's begin with, I have tried SOOOO many cinnamon roll recipes, trying to find one that was "Paul" approved. All claiming to be the "best" cinnamon roll, but all of them falling short. Until this one! Second, I have made this recipe many times and they have always come out perfect, I would almost classify them as foolproof and I can't forget to mention QUICK! I found the recipe online, but me being me, I can never follow a recipe perfectly. A few tweaks here and there, these are our BEST cinnamon rolls, and it makes 6 large ones, just right for our family. Two for Mom and Dad, one for each of the kids ;)

Paul Approved Cinnamon Rolls with Caramel Frosting

Roll Ingredients:

2 3/4 cups Flour

3 Tablespoons Sugar

1 teaspoon Salt

1 pkg (2 1/4tsp) Instant Yeast

1/2 cup Water

1/4 cup Milk

2 Tablespoons Butter

1 Egg

Filling:

1/4 cup Butter, softened

2 Tablespoons Cinnamon

1/4 cup Brown Sugar

Frosting:

1/4 cup Butter

1/2 cup Brown Sugar

1/4 cup Milk

1 cup Powdered Sugar

1. In large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast together. In small bowl, heat milk, water, and butter until butter is melted. Stir into flour mixture. Add egg and knead in mixer or by hand 3-4 minutes or until dough is no longer sticking. Add more flour if needed. Place in greased bowl and rest for 5 minutes.

2. Preheat oven to 200°F and turn off just before placing rolls in. Line 9x9 inch pan with parchment and set aside.

3. Roll dough out into a 15x9 inch rectangle. Spread butter, cinnamon and sugar evenly. Roll up and cut into 6-8 equal pieces. Place in parchment lined pan and cover with foil.

4. Turn off oven and place rolls in oven to rise for 20 minutes or until about doubled in size. Does not have to be exactly doubled because they will continue to rise while baking. Remove foil and leaven rolls in oven, turning the oven to 375°F. Bake in preheating oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden on tops.

5. Make frosting by putting butter and brown sugar in small sauce pan and heating until boiling. Boil about 2 minutes. Add milk, whisking until boiling agin. Whisk in powdered sugar. After removing rolls from oven, let cool for 5-10 minutes before pouring frosting over pan of rolls.

6. ENJOY!
